Energy & Climate Change

Since signing the Paris Agreement in 2015, efforts to transform the energy system are neither ambitious nor fast enough to meet a 2°C target, let alone 1.5°C.  If change is to happen at the rate required, we need a massive overhaul of the energy system – a huge challenge given its deep entrenchment in the social, economic and political fabric of most societies. Despite this, in the past decade the energy system has in fact already changed significantly, in response to the shale revolution and dramatic shifts in demand. Investors, governments, citizens and companies must enhance their understanding of the risks inherent in today’s system, and of the opportunities involved in responding proactively to climate change.

Meteos convenes and supports multi-sector initiatives aiming to support the transition to a low-carbon energy system.
